It may be even preferable to Demidenko's rendition. Splendid. But where to find it on streaming is a more difficult question. It's criminally obscure.

I've been a big fan of Richard Clayderman since 1989, and it fills me with joy seeing his music performed by pianists other than myself (no self promotion intended). There were a couple of wrong notes, but that didn't matter that much because you played it with expression and emotion! Bravo! 💐

Probably my favourite piece by Gottschalk. I always thought it felt similar to Chopin's "Fantasie Impromptu," with the lively and virtuosic A section artfully contrasted by the dreamy and lyrical B section. Marvelous.

I went to see her in the Dunedin Town Hall in New Zealand c.1954 when I was 11. I was enthralled. She was staying with friends of ours and they got me her autograph. How I wish I could have met her ❤

GOTTSCHALK was ahead of his time. I cant find any composer from the same era who composed music the way he did. This was perhaps the best proof that GOTTSCHALK invented Ragtime that inspired Scott Joplin !

this really is the most wonderful rendition of this beautiful etude I've encountered! All the poetry of the first part is there--yet it is still there in the gossamer chromatic section. The coda, which often sounds perfunctory (hence the choice the Leschetitzky cadenza favored by Moiseiwitsch, another superb performance) has its own special 'room'.

Others can play the piece, but not like him. He is a master. There is no one above him. I like to think he his the principal cellist of eternity, and all other cellists like myself can do is strive to possess just an ounce of his ability.

앳된 동혁님이 대견하기도 한데 한편으론 안쓰럽게도 보이네요. 저 어린 나이부터 오직 음악 하나만 붙들고 평범한 일상을 기회비용으로 치른 채 고군분투했을 걸 생각하니... 첫 장면에 어머니로 추정되는 분이 나오는 것도 반가우면서 좀 애잔하구요. 그리고 저 나이 때도 라 발스 같은 곡을 멋지게 쳤었구나 감탄도.. ㅎㅎ 암튼 동혁님을 알아봐준 마르타 아르헤리치께 새삼 감사하네요 ㅎㅎ 마르타가 엄청 귀여워하면서도 기특해 하는것 같아요 ㅎㅎ
